Small businesses having to close their doors has been devastating to communities and the individuals who own and work in these small businesses.
The good news is that there are still ways you can help support them. Here are a few things you can do right now to support your small-business community:
1. Order delivery/pick-up from local businesses
Not only does help keep the business going, it also provides income for delivery drivers.
2. Buy gift cards
While being stuck at home, you can give your local shops or favorite restaurant a vote of confidence by spending even $10 on a gift card to use later, when life gets back to normal.
3. Shop Local
OnlineMany local businesses have online sites in addition to their brick-and-mortar locations. If possible, consider giving them your business. Keep in mind that as long as you are buying from someone in your community, you're helping to keep their doors open and the employees their jobs.
4. Be Patient
While business are closed or working at a lower capacity there's a good chance that you'll encounter longer waits or out-of-stock items. There is nothing more than that business wants than to be able to meet all your needs. When they can't, extend a little grace and patience, remembering that they're working hard to stay open and serve their community.
